Connect Google Drive so agents can search, read, and organize files and documents.

Connecting Google Drive allows your agents to search for files, read documents, inspect spreadsheets, and save outputs directly into your drive folders.

## Connect Google Drive [#connect-google-drive]

Connect Google Drive from the account integrations settings:

### Open Settings and find Google Drive [#open-settings-and-find-google-drive]

Navigate to **Settings > Integrations** and find the **Google Drive** card.

### Authorize with Google [#authorize-with-google]

Click **Connect** and select the Google account you want to connect. Review the requested permissions and approve access.

### Attach Google Drive to your agent [#attach-google-drive-to-your-agent]

Open your agent's settings, navigate to **Integrations**, and enable Google Drive. You can now prompt your agent to search files, read documents, and access shared team files.

## Permissions and scope widening [#permissions-and-scope-widening]

When connecting Google Drive, Hyperagent requests permissions to search and read your files.

### Scope tiers and the amber warning badge [#scope-tiers-and-the-amber-warning-badge]

Older connections may hold legacy narrow scopes (`drive.file`) that only grant access to files explicitly created by Hyperagent. When an agent searches for pre-existing documents or shared files, these restrictive permissions cause search queries to return empty results.

Hyperagent automatically inspects your granted OAuth scope tier:

* **Amber status badge:** If your connection holds legacy `drive.file` permissions, an amber status indicator appears on the Google Drive card in **Settings > Integrations**.
* **Widen permissions:** Click the **Widen permissions** prompt on the connected account row. This initiates a quick re-authorization flow to upgrade your connection to full Drive search permissions without disconnecting your account.

### Shared drive support [#shared-drive-support]

With upgraded permissions, agent file searches automatically index and search across both personal **My Drive** folders and organizational **Shared Drives**.

## FAQs [#faqs]

Check your Google Drive connection in **Settings > Integrations**. If you see an amber status badge, your account is using legacy narrow permissions. Click **Widen permissions** to grant full search access so your agent can locate existing and shared files.

Yes. When connected with widened permissions, agents can search and read documents located in Google Shared Drives that your Google account has access to.
